Writing Together

  • by

Writing in community supports me both as a writer and as a person learning how to listen, reflect and continue to grow into my journey through life. “Writing Alone With Others”, is one of my favorite books by writer and AWA founder, Pat Schneider. This book continues to support me and help me shift perspectives and deepen my understanding of the transformative nature that takes place when we write. The results are tangible, I see it time and again with the individuals I write with on a weekly and monthly basis and even those with whom I might only write once.

My work continues to expand in meaningful ways. Through monthly workshops and writing circles, I have the opportunity and responsibility create spaces that invite presence and connection, sometimes through writing alone, other times through poetry, meditation, essential oils, intuitive art, or creative practices rooted in wellbeing. Each workshop offers a different doorway, but all are grounded in shared experience and community care. These connections are a steady reminder that writing is not meant to happen in isolation, but it thrives in relationship to those around you…. the community you build.

Even amid full lives and busy seasons, there is always space to pause, reflect, and notice small moments of meaning and joy along the path from being to becoming.

If you feel called to write in community, you are welcome to explore the gatherings unfolding throughout the year. I look forward to writing together, in whatever way feels right for you.

With gratitude,
Melissa
